How to Make a Live Edge Wood Window Sill

In this blog and video, I’ve got another fast and easy woodworking project coming your way as I’ll be making a live edge window sill. You can also use this same basic process for making live edge shelves for around the house.  For most all of my live edge woodworking projects, I start out with wood that I harvest and process myself directly from nature with my Grandberg chainsaw mill. I’ve made many videos about where to get live edge wood, how to dry it, and how to process it with a chainsaw mill, so if you’re interested in any of these topics, you can check them out here. If harvesting and processing your own live edge slabs isn’t an option though, you can most likely buy some at a specialty lumber store near you. Live edge woodworking is becoming more and more popular these days, and many woodworking stores and lumber mills now carry a variety of slabs to choose from. (rockler, etc.

As I mentioned, you can use the process I’ll be sharing in the video below to make windowsills, live edge shelves, or really anything else that you need a nice finished slab of live edge wood for.
