In this blog article, I’ll be sharing with you a recipe for Asian carp curry…that’s right…Asian carp curry! I’ve written many articles, have made many videos, and have written a book on the topic of these massively destructive invasive species of fish, but unbeknownst to most Americans, the silver and bighead Asian carp are also one of the most delicious and nutritious fish on the planet. Here is a fast, easy recipe for turning these troublesome intruders into a delicious curry.
Asian Carp Curry Recipe
Serving Size: two to four persons (depending on individual serving size)
- 2 lbs. Asian carp fillets
- 1 cup finely sliced celery
- ½ cup sliced onion
- 1 tablespoon melted butter or olive oil
- ½ teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- ¾ cup of milk
Step 1 – Cut fillets into small, boneless chunks and place as a bottom layer in a greased baking/casserole dish.
Step 2 – Sauté the celery and onions in olive oil or butter for five minutes, blend in seasonings and milk, and spread over the layer of fish.
Step 3 – Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes. Serve in individual bowls, sprinkle with paprika and enjoy.
