Fishing on Kodiak Island

Kodiak Island offers anglers some of the finest fishing in all of Alaska. Period! Whether one is

a seasoned fly fisherman or a beginner starting out on spinning gear, anglers can enjoy a wide

variety of fishing opportunities on Kodiak, both on the road system, and more so in the remote

areas of the island. While high pressure, “combat fishing” can occur somewhat on certain rivers,

at certain times of the year, the crowds and competition on Kodiak waters are a mere fraction as

compared to popular fishing locations on the mainland of Alaska. With a Wild Revelation

guide and/or a trip to one of our remote locations, fishing enthusiasts can get away from the

crowds even more, and experience a great deal of peace while enjoying some of the best

fishing in the world.

Wild Revelation Guide Service operates primarily on the fresh water rivers and lakes of

Kodiak Island. We offer our clients world-class fishing opportunities for all five species of Pacific

Salmon, Dolly Varden, and to a lesser degree, Rainbow and Steelhead Trout. While the chart below

shows a general timeline of availability for the different species of fish, it does vary somewhat each

year and on each body of water. We recommend booking your trip during the peak fresh water

season for the primary species of fish you are after, as indicated by the thicker lines on the chart.
